ADOPTION POLICY

All companion pets on public display in the shelter are available for adoption. (Except Montana, C.E.D.)

Upon choosing a companion pet to adopt, you will be required to complete an adoption application. The purpose of this application is to ensure your home and family are suitable for the companion pet you have chosen. It is our goal to permanently place companion pets in stable, supportive and loving homes. Once your adoption application is approved, in most cases you can take the animal home the same day.

Special criteria must be met if you live outside of our service area. Please scroll to the bottom of this page to read what you need to do BEFORE coming to the shelter.

Renters must fill out a Landlord Permission Form and have it signed by your landlord prior to adopting a pet.

We do not have an online application and we accept cash or checks only.
WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO REFUSE ADOPTION TO ANYONE.
