Volunteer Program
We have an active volunteer program and welcome volunteers 8 years old and up to join the program. Seniors - we have lots of volunteer opportunities for you, too!

 

Volunteers must register and go through brief training before their first volunteer session.

Volunteers under the age of 16 are "APPRENTICE" volunteers and must be accompanied by an adult while at the shelter.

"JUNIOR" volunteers are 16 years of age or older.

Once a volunteer has been trained to run the desk, answer the phone and do adoptions, he / she becomes a "SENIOR" volunteer.

Volunteers are encouraged to come work with the animals when the shelter is closed. If you can do this - call during open hours to set up a time to come in. This is the best time to walk the dogs.
